All Poems, Change, JFK Airport

Traveling For Years

We have been traveling for years.

Over fifty.

In and out of airports.

All sizes, shapes.

But never have I ever seen anything like this.

The Executive Platinum Lounge at JFK.

Looking like the Admirals’ Club.

Except it’s for baggage check-in.

Nine desks to register.

Replete with chairs, sofas.

Where someone takes your information.

Tags your bags.

And a young man pulls them through a door.

To dispatch to the plane.

While you watch from your perch.

On a chaise longue.

I noticed that JFK is soon renovating.

I can’t imagine what they’ll change.

Is it possible in years to come,

it could even be more strange?
